The Never Ending Blanket

I have been working on this darn blanket since OCTOBER!!! This was a Christmas present for my very patient sister. I ended up wrapping it up for her showing her the blanket and then taking it back so I can finish it. I got excited about getting started on it and didn't read the title of the pattern before I started otherwise I would have noticed that it said that it was a throw. If I wanted to make her a throw then I would be done by now! Luckily she is moving into a new apartment so I can give it to her for a house warming gift :) It has been around for a while now so it may be hard to part with. At least I know it will be going to a new home.

New to Etsy

After hours and hours of playing on Etsy I have finaly joined. It has to be my favorite shopping destination. I can sit in my pajamas with a glass of wine and shop shop shop or at least window shop. I bought almost all of my Christmas presents from Etsy and there was not one time where I wanted to pull my hair out in frustration from waiting in line at the mall. I love it so much I joined up myself.

Color Inspiration

I just moved into my new apartment and I have a big room to work on my jewelry. I love it but it is lacking inspiration. This is my little work area, I need to set up my other table I am starting to get a little cramped on just the one. I painted the walls a warm beige color but I need something bright to liven things up. It is just so blah.

I have found some really great artists on etsy.com that I am wanting art from, but it just deciding which pieces I want.

This piece my mattsart is so whimical and peacefull I love it.

Then there is this collage that is quirky and puts me in a good mood just looking at it. This one was created by stoopidgerl on etsy. http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=8176956

Book Full of Belly Laughs

I have just read a great book by author Laurie Notaro. The book is titled The Idiot Girls' Action-Adventure Club: True Tales from a Magnificent and Clumsy Life. I was laughing out loud reading this book and feeling the need to call people to read them the hilarious stories. This book is full of short stories that all of us can relate to in one way or another. Here is a little bit from one of my favorite stories called The Good, The Bad and the Ugly

"The Ugly Friends never get the attention that their Pretty Friends get. No boys ever want to know where the Ugly Friends are (at the Ugly Friends' Clubhouse, of course, where we watch endless episodes of the Golden Girls , eat troughs of cheesecake, and then try on girdles), but the boys will always ask the Ugly Friends, 'Hey, where's your Pretty Friend _____?' to which I always want to answer, 'In the hospital having some additonal plasitc surgery. Don't tell me you thought that perky nose was real?' "

Lauri Notaro has quite a few books out which I am sure are just as good. I ordered all of them for my mom for Christmas.

A new family addition

We have a new tiny addition to our family. Her name is Maebe, she is an itty bitty Morkie (Maltese and Yorkie). She has an older sister to, who is not quite sure how she feels about the spunky little puppy. Her sister is Cleo and 100 lb gorgeous Great Pyrenees.
It is pretty interesting taking the two of them on walks since Cleo's steps are longer than the puppy is. Maebe loves her big sister, especially that big fluffy tail which she is insists is just a big tug-o-war rope.

Bachelorette Buddies

After a long hot weekend in Palm Springs for a good friends bachelorette party I am back and ready to work. The bride has asked me to make delicate pearl bracelets for all of her flower girls. There are 5 of them and the wedding is in 2 weeks so I have to get crackin'. I am very honored that she asked me to make the bracelets for her special day. :)
